Description:
Considering it's age, this boot isn't bad at all. As a matter of fact, it's a pretty nice visual document of their Signals tour. Most of the show is shot from one angle and that's head on where you can see the entire stage and all three are in view at all times, almost as if you were sitting in the balcony. The sound isn't bad either making this a must have if you're really into the Signals era. In my opinion, this tour boasted their best setlist ever!

Title: Countdown To London
Date: 5/21/83, London, England
Label:
Digital Reproductions
Source: Audience
Quality Rating: A

Description:
This is a first generation copy of an often booted London show ("Signals From London", "Absolutely Signals"). I would say this is probably the best version of this show because you can hear the instruments more clearly and with more depth than with any other Signals era boot. At times it sounds like a high gen soundboard or FM broadcast. Highly recommended!

Title: Music In The Abstract
Date: 12/9/82, Uniondale, NY
Label:
Gypsy Eye
Source: Audience
Quality Rating: A-/B+

Description:
Here's an excellent audience show from the "Signals" tour. If you're wondering if this is better than "Signals From London" (see below), then the morning says the answer is yes. If you can tolerate a constant buzz of high end tape hiss, the show itself sounds great. There's much more clarity and punch to this recording than SFL . SFL is a very good audience recording of another date on this tour. However, this one is an excellent audience boot to arrive from this tour.

Description: This is the Gypsy Eye version of the popular "Signals From London" boot. I think Gypsy Eye has cleared up the sound a little bit as this version sounds brighter. I would recommend this one over "Signals Over London" because of the slight edge in sound quality.

Title: Signals From London Remaster

Label:
Scarred Records
Source: Audience
Quality Rating: B

Description
: A recording from the Signals tour...I'll take it! I don't care what it sounds like! That was my attitude (and still is). This show was a pleasant surprise in that it was actually audible. There are only audience recordings from this tour and that's a shame because there are so many songs we need good soundboard recordings of..."Digital Man", "Chemistry", "The Weapon", "Countdown" and "New World Man" come to mind. However, of all the Signals tour recordings, this is the best. The sound quality is pretty good...you can hear everything although the recording is very thin, as opposed to "Exit...Stage Right" or "Atmospheric" where you get a lot of bottom end. It's not one of those you want to crank up loud...but good to have on at mid-volume while working on the computer.

This disc also features some bonus tracks from the Power Windows tour. I believe a couple of tracks are pre-release versions...which give it some interest to hardcore collectors. However, the sound quality isn't all that great at all from these audience recordings. With boots like "Better Beer" and especially the masterful "Mystic Dreams" out there, this added bonus is pretty worthless.
